serpentine gallery

Last friday we went to the Serpentine Gallery. In front of the gallery there is a PAVILION which was designed by KAZUYO SEJIMA & RYUE NISHIZAWA of SANNA.

It looks like a big mirror roof. It is shaped like big water drop on glass. When er are looking up we can see ourselves, and i think it makes me seem to be in the tunnel.

This photo was taken by damee, when we were under the big roof.

To be honest, when i got there i was a little bit disappointed. Because i imagined a very very big large scale pavilion when i saw the photo pf it on the website. But I think it's a very nice structure. Its appearance is very modern but simple. And i think this modern structure is in good harmony with nature (arounding gallery). So when i am sitting under the pavilion it makes me feel peaceful.

4:48 Psychosis

I went to see the play ‘4:48 Psychosis ‘on the 7th August.
This play was written by Sarah Kane, the British playwright and played in several styles.
It has no explicit characters or stage directions.
She expressed ‘the point of view of someone with severe clinical depression’ because she suffered from depression at the time.

For me it was the first time to see a one-man stage play and I was very impressed by the powerful acting.
On the stage the actress was thinking, feeling, shouting and communicating with herself and other people who were invisible.
I could see a condensed expression of humanity. She dramatically changed the tone and speeds of her voice, used her eyes, physical actions and so on.

I suppose more than any other Art, the most effective way to represent humanity is a play by humans.

Nottinghill fes.

Many friends and I joined Notting hill festival, which is one of the greatest carnivals in London, last Sunday. Actually I visited there last year, It was surprising and I just enjoyed carnival. BUT at this time, I observed many different kinda things with different aspects that travellers might not be able to see and recognize.

Some people who sold beers illregally walked around the carnival and they was selling them for 2.50 each. Many travellers had bought beers with no doubt because they don't know proper prize and Off licence ship was packed. I tried to buy beers then I said "Can I have 3beers? how much is one beer? 2.50? you're kidding me, I live here" after this moment, seller gave me them for 1.50 each. it's quite rip off and they also know about it so Try to bargain, it's also one of the way to have fun.

The interesting thing I had in Notting hill and didn't have last year is clubbing where's opened area. Last year I didn't know the Fes and the area well so that I literally saw carnival. People were a bit merry, Londoner, traveller, students, olds became one. it was absolutely fab, backpackers left their heavy bags and danced with people. it was brilliant and so much fun.

ON THE OTHER HAND, there wasn't only good happening. many people urinated in public place such as walls, behind a public toilet, the thing is, even women did as well. Moreover, any place, any time, I could find the people who sold many kinda drugs. I no doubt that Notting hill festival is fascnating and marvellous and I really enjoyed with that. However, there's one thing I wanna say to you, Just be careful from behind splendid sides of the festival..

Eco Fashion

Buying vintage clothes is one of the good ways to recycle. Before winter comes and people want to go shopping to get new winter clothes, I recommend to go to Beyond Retro.
The shop has a number of clothes, accessaries, and shoes, they are in nice condition.

I'd like to know other lovely vintage shops. If you know, please tell me!

A man who is drawing on the floor

Last Saturday me, Gin-ah and Damee went to the National gallery.
On our way home we saw a man who was drawing on the floor.
He drew himself and some structure and little soldiers.
I think in the circle there maybe the meaning of london. Because he drew British soldiers and structures which seemed like a Big Ben.
In that time he was still working, so we didn't see the finish.
I just wonder what the completed drawing looks like...

However this man maybe a different man from the man whom I saw at the National gallery.
